Will - on our way

Getting in the mood for France. Can't wait until we see the real thing!

2 days and counting

Visas have arrived, seats booked, clothes..nearly...sort of packed, and house getting cleaner by the day. Yes, we are nearly ready for our big adventure. We look forward to keeping you informed with exciting, and some possibly less exciting, updates. But either way, can't wait to share our french adventure with you.

Since I last wrote, we are now packed, Pippy has met her new owner for the next 4 weeks, the house is tidier than it has ever been and the kids are even more excited. I have shopped in preparation for more shopping overseas...like cleaning the house for the cleaner. I have been surrounded by such fabulous friends, with lovely farewells, gifts and wishes..thank you so much everyone. I can't wait to stay in touch, and share our adventures with you.

Over the next few days, the blog will probably be a little quiet as we travel abroad. Our first stop is Glasgow, which will be wonderfully nostalgic, as we visit dear friends that we made while we lived there from 2003-2006. Then onto Edinburgh, to explore the history and great sites, via St Andrews, one of our favourite places! We have timed our visit perfectly as it is the second week of the Edinburgh Festival...Dave Hughes here we come. Perhaps not, but we are going to the Edinburgh Tattoo on Tuesday night. Last time we went it was very emotional, so I will be really interested to see how the children react. It is such a spectacular and memorable event.

After Edinburgh, we drive down through England stopping in the Lakes District, the Cotswolds, Bath and Oxford, then into London for 4 nights. Will is already thinking of ways to make the Buckingham Palace guards smile!

I will hopefully write a few things as I go, before our true french adventure starts.

Thank you so much to all our wonderful friends who have made these last few weeks so happy and exciting in the lead up to our trip. We are feeling very loved and so lucky to know you all. Can't wait to keep in touch, and already excited at the thought of coming home and sharing our journey with you.

A bientot mes amis. I will be in touch again soon.
